Mary Our Queen’s Youth Ministry is to, by, and for youth of the parish. Not only the Youth Director has their back or a core team of parents leaders in the parish, but everyone – from the liturgy, ushers, parish organizations and staff – have the best interest in mind for the young church.
Youth Ministry is co-curricular and hands on, for it allows the youth to live out what they learn about Jesus from class, their homes or the outside world. They can volunteer, make a retreat, help the poor on a mission trip, become a leader, attend a conference or camp, make new friends, and stay connected to the parish family beyond their high school walls. Young people also have the need to be understood, belong, open up; look at their faith in a new way and to be guided by mentors.
We invite each and every youth to go deeper in their relationship with Christ by becoming a disciple and participating in a small group. When a young person makes that free choice to be an active participant within the youth ministry of the parish they open up their lives to intentionality and the chance for truth, beauty and goodness in Jesus Christ. This is facilitated through authentic relationships, community building, sharing Jesus with others, doing service, developing leaders, caring for people in times of need and the prayer and worship with our Creator God.
All are welcome!
Mary Our Queen Youth Ministry is a comprehensive program that fosters an inner movement toward adult understanding and formation of the Catholic faith. The three goals of our program are:
1) Spiritual growth and understanding of our faith in new and innovative experiences.
2) Raise awareness of service and justice issues that call to us to act as a part of the Catholic Church and global community.
3) Develop connections and relationships among youth participants in a safe and positive environment.
Programming is developed by the Youth Director and a team of selected advisors. This team prepares meetings and plans activities for all aspects of our ministry program.
